Netflix not working? Things you can try
If many people are reporting the same problem, it's on Netflix's side and will clear up on its own. If not, these usually help.
Video won't play or keeps buffering
- Close the title and start it again.
- Restart the app, then your TV or streaming device.
- Unplug your router for 30 seconds.
- Try a different title. If only one fails, report it to Netflix.
Can't sign in
- Check that your plan is active and your payment went through.
- Reset your password from the sign-in page.
- Sign out of all devices in account settings, then sign in again.
App keeps crashing
- Update the Netflix app and your device's system software.
- Clear the app's cache, or delete and reinstall it.
- Free up storage if your device is nearly full.
Common questions
Is Netflix down for everyone or just me?
If our checker and other people's reports agree it's down, it's not just you. If reports are low and only your device is affected, the problem is more likely your connection or device.
Why is Netflix not loading on my TV?
During an outage, TVs usually show an error code or a spinning wheel. If there's no outage, restart the TV and your router, and make sure the Netflix app is up to date.
