Privacy

We collect as little as we need to show accurate, live status. This page explains what that is.

Reports and comments

When you report a problem, we record the issue you picked, your rough location and internet or mobile provider, and, if you add one, your comment and name. Comments are public by design and shown on the service's page. Leave the name field empty to post anonymously.

How we handle your IP address

Your IP address is hashed the moment it arrives, using a salt that rotates daily, and the raw address is never stored. Location shown on the site is aggregated by city, with coordinates rounded and no postal code stored.

Device ID

We keep a random ID in your browser's local storage, used only to limit how many reports one device can send. It isn't linked to your identity.

Alerts waitlist

If you join the waitlist for alerts, we store your email address and send one confirmation message. We don't send anything else until the alerts feature launches, and unconfirmed addresses are deleted after 7 days.

Our checker bot

We run our own hourly check of each tracked service's website. Site owners can identify and block this bot; see About our checker bot for how.

How long we keep data

We keep raw report and check data only as long as we need it to show recent status and history, then remove it on a regular schedule.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand which pages people find useful. If we ever add analytics or ads that use cookies, we'll ask for your consent first, with one clear choice, before anything is set.
